Stellenbosch home owners shocked at huge increases in property valuations for 2017

Some owners are experiencing up to 230% increases in their property values. This is due to the valuations being based on the sale of homes that have been prepared for selling, but many homes require substantial, expensive maintenance to become sales ready.

Isn’t it time that the municipality explores more revenue sources and trim personnel and administrative costs?

Eiendomsagent verslae oor verkope in die verskillende buurte sal op hierdie webwerf geplaas word om inwoners te help met besware.

Property agents reports of sales in the different suburbs will be paced on this website to assist owners with their objections.

I can only say this is madness and money making to once again punish the people that pay taxes on behalf of the majority that do not pay anything. On what do they base it?? WL

  3. Marius Snyman says:

The period for objecting to property valuations has been extended to 31 January 2017. To make a proper submission you need to use a specific form: see details here on the form http://www.stellenbosch.gov.za/documents/property-valuations/abridged-catalogue/4156-general-valuation-2017-objection-beswaarvorm/file

You can e-mail it to valuations@stellenbosch.gov.za or hand deliver it at the municipality.

In all cases ensure that receive confirmation of receipt.
