PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS TO THE R44 BETWEEN SOMERSET WEST AND STELLENBOSCH: (DEA&DP REF. NO.: 16/3/1/1/B4//45/1005/13)

We refer to the above-mentioned project and to our previous notification dated 12 December 2016 regarding the availability of a Final Basic Assessment Report (BAR) for public review and comment. The Final BAR was submitted to the Department of Environmental Affairs and Development Planning (DEA&DP) on 13 December 2016 as part of the application procedure, i.e. at the same time as it was made available for comment. Allcomments received by the end of the comment period were collated into a Final Comments and Responses Report (consisting of an authorities and general I&AP section), which on 31 May 2017 was submitted to the Department of Environmental Affairs and Development Planning (DEA&DP). The submission of this report is the final step of the Basic Assessment process. This information is now before DEA&DP for decision-making purposes.
